My Journey
My passion for performance began in Elementary School. Every year I performed in the two plays, and I loved every second of it. It’s also where I first gained an interest in production, as I was given the opportunity to run the sound board for one of the shows.
In Middle School I attended a summer camp that further sparked my love for film. For three summers we were given a week to group up and create 1-2 short-form videos. It was one of the most fun and formative experiences of my childhood. It was my first introduction to camera techniques, video editing, sound editing, and creative collaboration.
In my freshman year of high school one of the seniors in drumline approached me, asking if I’d like to learn how to operate the sound and light boards. Excited at the chance to learn more about production, I obliged. Over the following 3 years I became well-versed in the operations for putting on a school production, and was often approached before or during ceremonies if the staff had encountered a hiccup.
Now, I have broadened my areas of knowledge and become well-rounded across different areas of film. Whether it’s in front of or behind a camera, or even before or after the cameras roll, I have been on all sides of it. Every day I continue to learn and am always improving, building up my skillset as I continue working on projects.
